Association of Business Communicators Bronze Beacon Awards will recognize the
outstanding efforts of our professional colleagues who excel in communications

Why a Bronze Beacon Award:
The annual Bronze
Beacon Awards is a sterling opportunity to showcase your professional projects
and demonstrate your ability to act strategically and
think analytically. Bronze Beacon Awards offer a chance to formally validate
the project that you poured your talent into, while educating your peers
on communications plans that work. Work produced between June 1, 2008 and
May 31, 2009 is eligible.
Early Bird Entries:
Due Friday, June 19, 2009
$45 OCIABC members, $70 nonmembers, and $30 students
Final Entries:
Due Friday, July 3, 2009
$60 OCIABC members, $80 nonmembers, and $35 students
Event details:
The OCIABC Bronze Beacon Award Banquet will be held at Bridgeport Brewery in
Northwest Portland on the evening of Wednesday, August 5.
Carri Bugbee, principal
Big Deal PR and collaborator of Supporting Characters, will emcee the event.
Carri picked up a Shorty Award in the advertising category for her anonymous
efforts tweeting as Mad Men’s Peggy Olson. Carri has 20 years experience
in traditional public relations and advertising, but recently embraced online
marketing with a vengeance, including social networking, social media, search
marketing, and all things Web 2.0. She also leads Portland’s Social
Media Club and has been active in founding local Cre8Camp Conferences.
